Want Free Money? Why You Should File a Tax Return This Year.
March 13, 2008 by daveywhitney

Some people who usually don’t need to file a tax return will want to file one this year, so they will receive the economic stimulus rebate.
How to Get the IRS Economic Stimulus Rebate
In May the IRS will start to send Economic Stimulus Rebate checks to tax payers in the USA. In order to get this rebate you MUST file a 2007 Tax form (2007 forms are filed in 2008).
To get a payment, taxpayers must have:
1)A valid Social Security number,
2)Make AT LEAST $3,000 of income
3)file a 2007 federal tax return.
The IRS will take care of the rest. To quote the IRS WEB site:
“Eligible taxpayers will receive between $300 to $600 if single or $600 to $1,200 if married filing jointly. Millions of low-wage earners who usually are exempt from filing a tax return must do so this year in order to receive a stimulus payment.”
Special thanks to Mike Whitney CPA for this vital information.
I just sat down with W2 in hand intending to do this, and was like- “hey, i wonder what’s up on the blog?”
Pfft. W2? Trust fund.
@robertjwhitney - Is George W funding Techfaux, then? That’s awful nice of him.
@Bryan Woods - yes, some of us are legitimately employed and pay into our taxes on a schedule rather than paying an under educated H and R block doof to hack them together at the end. What do you expect from the sons of an accountant?
